ABOUT CHRISTINE

Life is hard. Like everyone else on the planet, I too suffered a broken heart that for a long time defined me. For years I was known as that intense and unhappy woman. But God didn't want me to live as a defeated person, and it was the fragile yet tenuous bond between me and my children that taught me more about God's love than anything else in my life.

God showed me how much He loved me by using the picture of myself as a mother, to prove to me how precious I am--and how precious you are too--to Him.

My life verse is: Isaiah 49:15,16a "Can a woman forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has born? Though she ... may ... forget, I will never forget you. See ... I have engraved you on the palms of my hands."

Let's face it; emotional pain hurts. No matter what your situation, it is my prayer that you will be strengthened in your faith, find healing from your personal heartaches, and joy to rise up like a phoenix out of the ashes of your past.

If you would like me to speak at your ladies' event, please go to my  CONTACT page. I'd love to hear from you. If you are church or camp leadership, and would like a pdf copy of my talks' transcripts, please email me and I will be happy to send that to you. Thank you.

ALSO, WHY I WRITE FICTION

Again, because LIFE isn't always easy. I know this to be true because I'm a wife, a mom, and a grandma, I'm also a reunited birth-mother. God didn't create us to work 24-7, but placed inside us a need for recreation. I love a good fiction tale that has plenty of adventure, romance, a touch of humor, but I mostly enjoy watching the hero and the heroine fight against terrible odds because it resonates with real life.

In my fictional novels, my goal is to entertain you with the spice of danger, the lure of romance, the escape to the exotic, but all with the sweetness of ageless faith in Christ. I want to encourage you, to give you hope to face your struggles. To help you become as strong as each one of my fictional heroines in my novels.

AND NOW FOR THE NOT-SO-SERIOUS STUFF about Christine Lindsay . . .

I'm a great believer in the ability to laugh at myself.

Prince Philip (Queen Elizabeth's husband) patted me on the head during their royal visit when I was a baby sitting in my pram outside the Belfast City Hall.

My great grandfather and my grandfather (yes father and son) both worked as riveters in the building of the Titanic, and no . . . as a family we take no responsibility in the sinking of that infamous ship...

My multi-award-winning trilogy Twilight of the British Raj is set during the end of colonial rule of India because some of my Irish ancestors served in the British Cavalry during that flamboyant era. Not only did my great, great grandfather serve in India in the latter half of the 19th century, but so did my grandfather's brother. This photo is of my great-uncle Eddie as a Cavalry officer during equestrian tournaments. Photo taken in India between the two world wars.

I've only been to India once on a missionary trip, and that was after my first novel (set in India) was published.

My family immigrated to Canada when I was 5 years old, and I've lived in a number of provinces covering the entire country. I'm proud to be Canadian.

Before I met my husband, I gave birth to a baby girl and because I wanted the
Reunion Day 1999, L to R, Mark (Sarah's husband), Sarah, me,
my daughter Lana, and youngest son Robert.
very best for her I relinquished her to adoption. In faith that God would bring our lives together again one day, I named her Sarah. Twenty years later God did indeed reunite us, and Sarah and I have a wonderful relationship as birth mom and birth daughter, but not without a bumpy and heartbreaking journey.

But God has been so good to me, because through David I also have the most wonderful grown kids now, my beautiful daughter and my two sons, and these days grandchildren.

God has been so good to me, I cannot thank Him enough. I write to glorify Him and bless others. Because I believe what Christ said about Himself -- He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Thank you for stopping by. Hugs and Blessings.
