But first, I want to tell you that I love WhiteFire Publishing!!!
Back in 2010 Roseanna and David White gave me my first opportunity to become a published author. In fact, my debut novel Shadowed in Silk was the first novel they published after Roseanna White’s own WhiteFire Titles. I continue to thank God for Roseanna and David to this day.

WhiteFire was looking for stories that were the kind of books I like to read, stories with depth, that weren’t afraid to tackle tough issues, stories that truly did help the reader meet the Spirit on the page. With great delicacy my historical trilogy tackles subjects like standing up against spousal abuse, recovery from alcoholism, racial equality, the stand against imperialism and the subjection of other cultures, the sex trade of children, how past wars affect our world’s politics even today, and especially where our military has recently served and is currently serving in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Tough subjects, I admit. But, weaving in and around those hard-hitting issues there are the stories of fictional people, who live and laugh and love in settings that make you feel as though you are there. Characters that blow it, mess up, and my goodness--need saving. Characters that I pray you can relate to on a very honest level spiritually.

Add in romance, mystery, adventure, and in an exotic setting that you can practically smell.

Readers often write to tell me that they were hesitant to pick up my books due to the unusual settings and the issues, but that they found that my writing surprised them, that my plots kept them glued to the page, and how their intellect was stimulated and their hearts touched.

All these years later, I’m proud, yet humbled, that WhiteFire has since published 4 of my 6 books. My latest WhiteFire title being the true-life story that started my multi-award-winning career. That non-fiction memoir is Finding Sarah Finding Me. Through my painful emotional journey as a fractured mother, the Lord turned my heartache into the very work that gives me tremendous satisfaction, and one of my greatest joys. A joy I want to share with you.

I actually wanted to post this comment on Cara Leucht's post ahead of me, but can't find the comment button.

Anyway, here's a quote I love by Dorothy L. Sayers and her book – The Mind of the Maker
“…for man is so made that he has no way to think except in pictures.”
